Artist Development

We’re more than just a place to perform. We’re a home for artists.

Wherever you are in your career, The Glasshouse is a place where you’ll be supported, inspired and celebrated.

If you’re already a musician, thinking about becoming one, or want to learn more about other careers in the music industry – you’ll find a home at The Glasshouse.

We’re here for rehearsal space, professional support, commissions, training, performance opportunities, or simply access to a network of other local musicians.

Whatever kind of music you play, whatever your age or stage – there are no barriers here.

Ready to play?

BBC Introducing From The Glasshouse

In 2025, we teamed up with The Fire Station, Tees Music Alliance, Middlesbrough Town Hall and Generator to forge one of the first regional partnerships for BBC Introducing.

The goal? More ears on music from the North East. More stages for artists from our region. More ways to get into the music industry.

Each month, we curate a line-up of artists making waves in BBC Introducing offices around the country. For artists – you get to play in our iconic Sage Two venue, a professional session video and the chance for your live tracks to be played on BBC Introducing shows. For fans – it’s a chance to ‘pay-what-you-decide’ to see your new favourite bands and artists.

Our musical family

The Glasshouse is the place where artists and music fans meet. Together with our Artistic Partners and musical family we curate and create new music experiences to spark new links between artists, audiences and venues in the North East.
