Being able to enjoy live music again is grand. But we know it needs to be safe for everyone – our audiences, artists, and staff. So here’s how we’re staying on top of that:

• Keeping our spaces clean. The whole building is cleaned regularly and all our air-handling units are carefully maintained.
• Helping people interact safely. We’ve got easy-to-spot hand sanitiser stations all across the building. And you can use contactless payment for anything you want to buy while you’re here.
• Keeping crowds to a minimum. We’ve introduced pre-booking for interval drinks and snacks, so our bar areas aren’t too crowded.

Plus we’re always checking our measures line up with guidance from the government and public health authorities, so we’re ready to make changes if we need to.

Nope. The more the merrier.

If you can pay using your card or your phone that’s usually quicker (and contactless payments are always cleanest and safest, of course). But we do still take cash, so it’s fine if you prefer that.

Yes – it’s tucked in right by our ticket office, near the West entrance (on the side of the building nearest the Tyne Bridge) and it’s open whenever there’s a performance.

There’s no charge to leave your coats and bags, but there’s a chance to donate a few pounds. We’re a charity, so anything you give helps us make sure all our live music opportunities are available to anyone – no matter their age, background, abilities, or how much money they have.

Small bags are fine. But if it’s bigger than 297 x 420 mm (that’s the size of a piece of A3 paper) then you’ll need to leave it in our cloakroom.by completing this form.

Depends how easy it is to spill. Obviously we don’t want people on the lower levels getting accidently drenched, so if you’ve got an open glass or cup then you can only bring it in if you’re on Level 1. (That goes for both our halls – Sage One and Sage Two). But if you’ve got a bottle of water or a soft drink with a screw cap, then you can take it in on any level.

We know it will be a night you want to remember, so we’re fine with you taking pictures and videos during the performance – as long as they’re only for personal use. (If you want to use professional stuff like tripods, sound recording equipment, or SLR / DSLR cameras then you’ll need to talk to us first. Just call or email and we’ll let you know what’s possible).

The main thing is to make sure you’re not disturbing the people around you. That means turning off your flash, keeping your screen brightness nice and low, losing any shutter sounds, and not filming for too long if you’re blocking anyone’s view.

Nope, sorry. You can’t smoke anywhere in our building – even e-cigarettes. But there are spots just outside if you want to pop out during an interval.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy live music with us. So if anyone’s acting in a way that spoils the experience – like being intimidating or aggressive, or putting themselves or other people in danger – just let us know and we’ll ask them to leave. You can either grab a steward or talk to anyone working in our café, bars, or ticket office.
