Reely Folk is a fun and relaxed introduction for young people aged 10-16 years to folk and traditional music.
It is a social setting in which participants learn about and develop their understanding of folk music, arrangement techniques and performance skills. Led by Rupert Philbrick the group work toward performances at The Glasshouse and further afield.
Participants also have the opportunity to meet and learn from professional guests who offer insight to their areas of musical expertise and what it’s like to be professional folk musicians.
Participants of Reely Folk often advance onto Folkestra, an exciting programme for young folk enthusiasts aged 13-19.
This programme is best suited for participants who are at roughly an intermediate level or above (or have been playing for 2-3 years), but we are interested to hear from anyone who would like to be involved.
Singers and instrumentalists are welcome.
