The Simplyhealth Great North 10K will take place in Gateshead on Sunday 7th July with a start time of 10am. To create a safe and enjoyable race course, The Great Run Company has worked closely with Gateshead Council to minimise the impact of the race on the area, however it is likely that there will be some disruption around Sage Gateshead.

The event, now in its 11th year, will have approximately 5,500 runners that will start on Saltmeadows Road / Neilson Road at the back of Gateshead International Stadium. The route will head down to the Quayside and go past the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and your premises – Sage Gateshead as well as passing the iconic Tyne Bridge.

The runners will then follow an out and back section to the west of the Tyne Bridge on the redeveloped south bank of the Tyne. From here they will retrace their steps back to finish inside Gateshead International Stadium itself.

To facilitate the event a number of road closures and traffic diversion plans will be in operation on Sunday 7th July, as detailed below.
